Inner City Health Center – Veterans Administration

Inner City Health Center (“ICHC”) purchased a former and now historic US Army Depot building campus comprising five (5) buildings at 3800 York Street in 2008 that included this 8,000 SF building which was vacant for fifteen years until the Veterans Administration (“VA”) leased it for their Community Resource & Referral Center.  The renovation of the building was to accommodate the VA’s new Community Resource & Referral Center (“CRRC”), which is open to all homeless Veterans or those Veterans at risk of homelessness and seeking connection to VA services.

Developco led coordination as ICHC’s owner’s representative for all the design, engineering, construction and outfitting. This included interactions with Denver Landmark Preservation Commission, the State Historic Preservation Office and the National Park Service. The renovation costs were $1.8 million including all design, permitting, construction hard costs and low voltage systems. The design was performed by Jigsaw Design and the construction completed by Howell Construction on October 31, 2018.  The project started and finished on schedule and was completed within the budget established at the beginning of the project.

Developco remains involved with ICHC to manage the design and construction for their ground-up York Street clinic expansion and renovation and to manage the design and renovation of their Wheat Ridge clinic.
