Kids First Health Care is a non-profit healthcare organization whose vision is that “all children should have health coverage and access to quality health care, regardless of the family’s insurance status or ability to pay.” Kids First serves children ages birth to 21 at eight (8) clinics in four (4) school districts and provides school nursing services in two (2) school districts. Since its inception 40 years ago, Kids First has provided more than 185,000 health visits to approximately 71,000 children.
For many years, Kids First operated an off-campus clinic out of a cramped fifty-year-old building owned by Adams County School District 14 in south central Commerce City. To achieve their desire to reach more children with state-of-the-art services and facilities, Kids First determined that it must relocate into a larger and newly renovated facility.
In 2020, an existing property at 7190 Colorado Boulevard comprising 10,642 square feet was identified. Developco was hired to oversee the new property inspection due diligence and all of the design, engineering, construction and outfitting for the new clinic. With the excellent work by Kestrel Design Group and i2 Construction, the new $2.5 million clinic opened in August, 2022.
